Florida and Colorado Residents to Benefit from Safer Roads as Autotalks and Yunex Traffic Deploy Connected Vehicle Infrastructure Technology

The Connected Vehicle Roadside Units (RSUs) will support public transportation, passenger cars, and heavy and light vehicles on highways, roads, and bike lanes. The units allow vehicles and infrastructure to “talk” to each other, supporting the prioritization of buses and emergency vehicles as detection of pedestrians and other vulnerable road users. The announcement is related to a U.S. Government plan that allocates $6.4 billion over five years, to fund projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions – a budget which will also help support V2X infrastructure projects.

Day 1 V2X offers life-saving situational awareness alerts. Day 2 V2X applications can use sensor data shared by other vehicles and enable critical actions such as automatic braking. The new device has already been awarded for series production of a passenger car by a major automotive OEM.

Autotalks announces immediate availability of ZooZ 2 safety device for bikes and scooters

Four bike and component companies are committed to launching ZooZ 2 pilots, and two vehicle manufacturers (OEMs) are about to start validation tests of the new micro-mobility device, which is set to prevent accidents involving electric and non-electric bikes and scooters at intersections. Autotalks’ device, running Commsignia V2X stack, was successfully used to demonstrate the protection of vulnerable road users as part of the Project SECUR, a European industrial consortium which develops V2X test protocols for Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program)
