Amazon CEO Andy Jassy declared Prime Video is a thriving enterprise, stating the business is "growing, it’s profitable, and it’s still early." Jassy highlighted the platform's momentum during a recent shareholder Q&A, attributing success to strong content, live sports, and strategic partnerships. According to Amazon News, Jassy believes great content is paramount for customer engagement.

Content is King

Jassy pointed to the significant viewership for original films like the 'Culpables' trilogy, which topped charts in 170 countries. He also teased upcoming projects, including a sequel to 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' and continued work on the Bond franchise. The CEO specifically lauded 'Project Hail Mary' as an exceptional film, noting its substantial box office returns.

A slate of high-profile series, including 'Fallout,' 'Reacher,' and 'The Boys,' were also cited as drivers of viewership.

Sports Drive Engagement

Live sports are a critical component of Prime Video's growth strategy, with Jassy noting that 95 of the top 100 most-watched programs annually are live sports. He detailed Prime Video's extensive sports offerings, from NFL's 'Thursday Night Football' and the NBA to the Masters, NASCAR, and UEFA Champions League, emphasizing their role in attracting and retaining Prime subscribers.

Strategic Partnerships

Prime Video's ecosystem is further bolstered by integrations with third-party providers such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount+, Peacock, and Apple TV+. This strategy expands content accessibility and user engagement.
