AI-driven recommendations, highlighting popular and certified content, further enhance asset discovery. Data stewards can customize this experience by creating domains that align with business structures, such as departments or geographical regions.

Domains: Context for AI Agents

Domains serve as a crucial business-context layer, organizing data and AI assets around how a business operates. This structure helps AI agents understand which assets are relevant and trustworthy within specific business areas, leading to more reliable outputs.

By extending Unity Catalog semantics, Domains capture an organization's understanding of its data in business terms. This context directly feeds into systems like Genie Ontology, enabling agents to locate and use the appropriate assets while respecting existing user permissions.

The system is designed to reduce the risk of agents misinterpreting business concepts or overlooking critical data. As organizations increasingly rely on AI, this contextual layer is vital for ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
