Amplitude targets AI brand monitoring chaos

Your brand is probably invisible in the new world of AI search, and you don’t even know it. That’s the problem analytics firm Amplitude is targeting with its new tool, AI Visibility, which aims to bring clarity to the chaotic new landscape of AI brand monitoring.

As users increasingly turn to ChatGPT, Claude, and Google’s AI Overviews for answers, traditional SEO metrics have become obsolete. According to Amplitude, six in ten web browsing sessions now include an AI-generated summary, meaning brands that don’t appear in those summaries are effectively losing high-intent customers before the journey even begins.

The new SEO is AIO

Amplitude AI Visibility is essentially a dashboard for this new reality. The tool, announced today, tracks how a brand and its competitors show up across major AI platforms. It generates an "AI search score" and, more importantly, identifies the sources, like Reddit, Wikipedia, or YouTube, that are influencing the AI’s recommendations.

This marks a significant shift for marketers. The game is no longer just about optimizing a corporate blog for keywords; it’s about influencing the sprawling, informal web of content that large language models treat as their source of truth. If your competitor is all over a key Reddit thread, they may be winning the AI search battle without you realizing your web traffic is about to dip.

Amplitude’s platform is designed to be more than just a radar. A forthcoming update promises to provide actionable recommendations, simulate the impact of content changes, and even auto-generate creative briefs to fill visibility gaps. The ultimate goal is to connect the dots between an AI mention and a converted customer, proving the ROI of this new discipline: AI Optimization (AIO).

The tool is being rolled out for free to all existing Amplitude customers and a limited free version is available for non-customers to check their score. It’s a clear signal that the race for AI brand monitoring is on, and the companies that map this new territory first will likely build a formidable advantage.
