ROLLER, the platform powering everything from ticketing to payments at leisure and attractions venues, has secured an additional $50 million in funding. The investment, led by existing backer Insight Partners with J.P. Morgan joining, is earmarked primarily for accelerating AI innovation within its suite of venue management tools. This move signals a significant push to bring advanced artificial intelligence to an industry often perceived as slow to adopt cutting-edge tech.
The Austin-based company, which already boasts over 3,000 customers across 30 countries, aims to leverage this capital to help operators streamline operations, boost efficiency, and enhance guest experiences through AI-powered functionality. Think smarter queue management, personalized guest interactions, or predictive analytics for staffing and inventory – all driven by machine learning. This isn't just about incremental updates; ROLLER's co-founder and CEO Luke Finn emphasized accelerating "next-generation solutions" to serve customers better.
This latest round doubles ROLLER's total funding to $100 million, following a similar $50 million injection in November 2023.
The AI Edge in Attractions
For venue operators, the promise of AI news from ROLLER is tangible: less friction, more revenue. The platform's existing comprehensive suite — covering ticketing, point-of-sale, integrated payments, memberships, and guest experience tools — will now be supercharged with intelligence. This means operators could see AI-driven insights suggesting optimal pricing strategies based on real-time demand, or automated responses to common guest queries, freeing up staff for more complex interactions.
Beyond AI, ROLLER plans to expand its financial services offerings and grow its partner ecosystem, providing customers with more choice and flexibility. But the core narrative remains the strategic pivot towards AI as a differentiator in a competitive landscape. As Mark Finn, ROLLER’s Co-founder & CFO, noted, this capital provides the flexibility for both organic and inorganic growth, hinting at potential acquisitions to bolster their AI capabilities.
The leisure and attractions sector, from theme parks to museums, is ripe for digital disruption. ROLLER's substantial investment in AI news positions it as a frontrunner in delivering the smart, efficient, and personalized experiences modern guests increasingly expect.
