Project Q Secures €7.5M for DefenseTech IoD Platform

Munich-based DefenseTech startup Project Q secured €7.5 million in Seed funding. Project A led the round, with participation from Expeditions Fund and Superangel. This Project Q funding supports the Q-Open SourcePlatform (Q-OSP) development.

The capital will expand the team and initiate initial scaling projects. These projects involve European armed forces and security agencies. Project Q aims to develop the digital backbone for Europe’s next-generation security and defence infrastructure. This Project Q funding also strengthens Europe’s technological sovereignty.

Expanding IoD Platform Development

Founded in 2024, Project Q delivers scalable, mission-ready sensor intelligence systems. Its core innovation is a modular architecture based on the Internet of Defence (IoD) approach. This system fuses data from diverse sensors. It delivers real-time, cross-domain intelligence, closing critical capability gaps. Companies like Palantir also focus on data integration for defense.

The Q-OSP serves as the software backbone for Project Q. It connects and orchestrates fragmented sensors and systems. It also integrates third-party datasets with artificial intelligence. This open ecosystem ensures compatibility with legacy systems and commercially-available (COTS) technologies. It accelerates deployment cycles and enhances operational readiness, unlike some traditional defense contractors such as Rheinmetall. The platform supports the integration of advanced technologies like unmanned systems.

Project Q’s approach streamlines modern defense.
