Zetaris, a provider of modern data lakehouse solutions for AI, has announced the appointment of Robert Herjavec as Executive Director of Global Strategy. This move aligns with the company’s ongoing global expansion, particularly in the US market.
Herjavec is a well-known entrepreneur and investor, recognized for his role on ABC’s Shark Tank. He has founded and exited multiple companies in the cybersecurity sector, including Herjavec Group, which was acquired by private equity firm Apax Partners in 2021 and rebranded as Cyderes. He remains involved with Cyderes as an investor, board member, and adviser. Herjavec is also a New York Times best-selling author and an Emmy Award-winning executive producer for Shark Tank.
“Zetaris is a transformative company poised to redefine real-time data utilization for AI,” said Herjavec. “Many organizations have innovative ideas, but Zetaris stands out with a modern data lakehouse solution that has the potential to compete with billion-dollar companies. In addition to taking on the role of Executive Director of Global Strategy, I have personally invested in Zetaris, as I believe its technology will play a crucial role in driving AI adoption.”
Founded in Australia, Zetaris has expanded globally, providing real-time data access and analytics across industries, including healthcare, financial services, retail, telecommunications, and government. The company’s technology enables real-time analytics on disparate data sources without traditional data movement or duplication.
“Robert’s investment and leadership in Zetaris reflect the growing recognition of our technology as a next-generation solution for AI-driven data management,” said Chairman Robert McLean.
Zetaris’ investor base includes Exto Partners, In-Q-Tel, and other strategic backers. “We are strong supporters of Zetaris and believe in its potential to scale. Robert’s involvement will further elevate Zetaris’ market presence and growth trajectory,” added William Deane, Managing Director of Exto Partners.
The company’s global partner network includes NVIDIA, Cisco, Hitachi, Equinix, and IBM Cloud. Zetaris currently operates offices in San Francisco, Sydney, and Melbourne, with plans for further U.S. expansion and increased hiring in 2025.
“Robert brings unmatched expertise and passion to Zetaris," said Zetaris' CEO Vinay Samuel. "His experience makes him the ideal leader to drive our strategic growth, and I look forward to working with him closely in this next phase.”
