Google has launched "Deep Think" in the Gemini app for Google AI Ultra subscribers, an advanced AI tool designed for complex problem-solving and creative reasoning.
Deep Think utilizes "parallel thinking" and extended "inference time" to explore multiple solutions simultaneously, revise ideas, and refine answers. While a more powerful "gold-medal standard" version of the Gemini 2.5 Deep Think model (which achieved top honors at the International Mathematical Olympiad) is being shared with select mathematicians, the app version is faster for daily use and achieves Bronze-level performance on the IMO benchmark.
It excels in areas such as iterative development and design, scientific and mathematical discovery, and algorithmic development and coding, demonstrating state-of-the-art performance on various benchmarks. Google emphasizes that Deep Think is built with safety in mind, showing improved content safety, though it may refuse benign requests more often.
Ultra subscribers can access Deep Think today within the Gemini app, with API access for developers and enterprises planned for the future.
