Opper AI, the Task-Completion API ensuring generative AI delivers in real-world production, today announced its acquisition of FinetuneDB, a leading fine-tuning platform for creating custom large language models (LLMs).
The deal brings FinetuneDB’s dataset curation and training workflows into Opper’s reliability stack - shortening the path from user feedback to task-optimized models, and furthering Opper’s mission to make autonomous AI agents reliable at scale.
As part of the acquisition, FinetuneDB co-founders Felix Wunderlich and Farouq Aldori will join Opper’s leadership team as Chief Growth Officer and Chief Technology Officer, respectively. FinetuneDB will remain available to customers during a limited transition period, with Opper communicating all updates directly.

By bringing FinetuneDB into its stack, Opper positions itself firmly among the companies shaping the future of trustworthy, production-ready AI.
The acquisition signals Opper’s growing ambition in the rapidly accelerating autonomous agent space, where reliability remains a key barrier to adoption. Opper confirmed that new product releases in autonomous AI agents will be announced in the near term.
