Kangarootime Acquires AI Startup Clay to Transform Early Childhood Education

Israeli AI education startup, Clay, has been acquired by childcare management software, Kangarootime.

We’re leaning into solutions our customers need for the classroom in addition to managing their business to make educators’ roles easier.”

Clay's integration into Kangarootime's offerings is expected to bring significant enhancements, such as Behavioral and Developmental Surveys to detect early signs of children's challenges, and the ECE Coach feature which offers instant access to expert guidance on various early education topics, lessening reliance on center directors. They also bring their personalized, AI-Powered Curriculum with a Weekly Planner will allow educators to swiftly create high-quality, compliant lesson plans.

Founded in 2021 by Omri Mendellevich (former Dynamic Yield founder and CTO), Alexandra Schinasi, and Lee Rotenberg, Clay offers a behavioral health solution for early childhood education centers to address potential behavioral and developmental struggles more effectively. They leverage Generative AI, The Digital Behavior Coach and Lesson Generator, to create impactful lessons aligned with state standards and tailored to the specific needs of children. Generated lessons incorporate Social and Emotional Learning elements, and is customizable to education models (i.e. Montessori, Reggio Emilia).

The startup raised a Seed funding round in 2021 with investor participation from Remagine Ventures, Joyance Partners and JVH Ventures, among others.
