Island, the enterprise browser pioneer, announced Citi Ventures’ participation in its $175 million Series D funding, initially closed in April 2024 and led by Coatue and Sequoia. The funding doubled Island’s valuation to $3 billion, with total investment now reaching $487 million.
Island’s browser integrates enterprise security, IT controls, and productivity features directly into the browsing experience. Its platform offers advanced controls like data redaction, watermarking, and zero-trust network access, allowing enterprises to secure workflows and enhance productivity. Key clients span Fortune 100 companies and major industries, signaling rapid adoption.
“Citi Ventures brings unique insights to expand our presence in financial services,” said Mike Fey, Island CEO. “The enterprise browser is becoming critical for secure, efficient operations.”
Island simplifies IT infrastructure and improves security by replacing virtual desktop environments with native browser functionality. It provides SaaS and internal application controls such as blocking downloads, preventing screenshots, and managing privileged user access—boosting performance while cutting costs.
With growing enterprise demand and strong backing from leading investors, Island continues to shape the future of hybrid work and secure SaaS environments.
