Metaview, a UK-based HR technology platform, has secured $35 million in Series B funding. The company develops AI tools designed to enhance the hiring process by analyzing candidate conversations and providing data-driven insights for talent acquisition. Its core function is to close the loop between what hiring managers seek and what candidates communicate during interviews, aiming to replace subjective guesswork with clarity.
Traditional hiring practices have largely remained untouched by comprehensive digital transformation, often relying on subjective criteria, poorly defined requirements, and low accountability. Despite the high stakes involved in talent acquisition, decisions are frequently based on feeling rather than objective evidence. In larger organizations, this problem is magnified, as knowledge of what constitutes a successful hire can be fragmented across numerous interviewers, with no consistent feedback loop to indicate which decisions were effective or why. Metaview addresses these challenges by asserting that hiring conversations with candidates hold the richest data for making informed talent decisions.
The platform's AI capabilities are designed to capture, analyze, and leverage this conversational context. This ensures that all stakeholders involved in the hiring process, from recruiters to hiring managers, operate from the same real-time information. Teams utilizing Metaview can objectively compare what candidates actually said during interviews with the initial criteria established for the role. This introduces a layer of objectivity, consistency, and insight that traditional hiring methods have often lacked.
The platform has recorded over three million interviews to date, enabling hiring teams to work from consistent, high-quality insights derived directly from candidate interactions. Metaview’s suite of AI agents includes:
- AI Notetaker: This tool automatically captures and structures interview notes, customizing them to specific roles, interview stages, and scorecards, reducing manual effort and ensuring consistency.
- AI Reports: A fully customizable reporting engine designed to optimize the entire hiring funnel by providing detailed insights into process efficiency, candidate progression, and decision-making patterns.
- AI Answers: This agent delivers immediate, reliable information regarding any candidate, job, or specific detail within the hiring process, streamlining access to critical data for quick decision-making.
- AI Job Posts: This feature generates and maintains job descriptions, enabling teams to launch new candidate searches in seconds rather than days, improving recruitment speed and efficiency.
The round was led by GV (Google Ventures). Participating investors included Plural, Vertex Ventures, Seedcamp, Coeluis Capital, True Equity, Victor Riparbelli, and Barney Hussey-Yeo.
Competitors in the HR technology space include HireVue, which offers AI-powered video interviewing and assessment tools, and Pymetrics, known for its gamified cognitive and emotional assessments for talent matching. Broader applicant tracking systems like Greenhouse also provide tools for managing the hiring pipeline, though they may not specialize in conversational AI analysis to the same extent as Metaview.
