Following suit with leading corporations around the world, Indian tech powerhouse Wipro (NSE: WIPRO) introduced Wipro ai360, an all-encompassing, AI-centric innovation ecosystem. The launch builds on Wipro's substantial investment history in AI, aiming to embed artificial intelligence across every platform, tool, and solution used both internally and for client offerings. Accompanying this landmark introduction, Wipro pledged a giant $1 billion towards augmenting AI capabilities over the upcoming three years.
Wipro ai360, invigorated by the giant investment, is primed to trigger a fresh era marked by value, productivity, and lucrative opportunities, courtesy of AI and its Generative variant.
Wipro Limited's CEO and Managing Director, Thierry Delaporte, stated that their goal is to empower their talent and infuse AI across all operations, processes, and client solutions.
Embracing responsible AI at its heart, Wipro ai360 will synergize the expertise of 30,000 Wipro data analytics and AI experts with the technology and advisory ecosystem spanning four global business lines. The skills within cloud and partnerships, data, analytics and AI, design and consulting, cybersecurity, and engineering will be utilized to spawn novel solutions and weave AI into all operations and practices. Wipro's new global business line model is designed to fuel unprecedented agility, velocity, and depth in delivery.
Moreover, Wipro’s innovation hub Lab45 will become an integral component of the Wipro ai360 ecosystem, supplying clients with the necessary talent, training, scale, and research and co-innovation capabilities to expedite AI adoption.
The $1 billion investment will serve to further elevate Wipro's AI, data and analytics foundations, R&D, platforms, enhance FullStride Cloud, and cultivate new consulting capabilities. These will empower clients to adjust to change and tap into fresh value through AI.
Wipro will boost investments in groundbreaking startups via Wipro Ventures as well. The company plans to unveil a GenAI Seed Accelerator program, providing a select group of Generative AI focused startups with the training required to become enterprise-ready.
In pursuit of their objectives, Wipro has committed to training all 250,000 employees on the basics of AI and its responsible usage within the coming year, and pledges to offer more role-specific, ongoing training for employees in AI-specialized roles.
Wipro will construct an AI-centric curriculum tailored for various roles, culminating in employee credentialing through the Decentralized Identity & Credential Exchange (DICE) ID platform. Furthermore, the company will orchestrate hackathons and challenges on its talent crowd platform, Topcoder, for continuous employee upskilling.
The announcement follows a slew of other tech corporations, like Lenovo, pledging $1 billion to accelerate Generative AI deployment across enterprise functions.
