Aerones, a Latvian AI-driven robotics company specializing in wind turbine maintenance, has successfully raised $62 million in a new funding round. This significant investment will fuel the company's expansion and technological advancements, addressing the growing need for efficient and safe wind turbine servicing globally.
The funding round was co-led by Activate Capital and S2G Investments, with participation from Carbon Equity, Overlap Holdings, and existing investors including Lightrock, Blume Equity, Metaplanet, Change Ventures, and Extantia. This substantial capital injection builds upon previous funding secured by Aerones, including a €4 million grant from the EU Innovation Fund and $30 million raised in 2023.
Aerones utilizes a fleet of AI-powered robots and drones to inspect and maintain wind turbines, significantly improving efficiency and safety in the renewable energy sector.
