Anthropic is rolling out a suite of AI agents designed to automate time-consuming tasks within the financial services sector. The offering includes ten pre-built agent templates targeting areas like pitchbook creation, KYC file screening, and month-end closing procedures.

These agents are available as plugins for Claude Cowork and Claude Code, or as cookbooks for Claude Managed Agents, allowing for rapid deployment. This move aims to put AI to work on real financial tasks in days, rather than months, according to Anthropic News.

Streamlined Workflows Across Applications

Further enhancing usability, Claude now integrates directly with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with Outlook integration coming soon, via new add-ins. Context automatically flows between these applications, eliminating the need to re-explain work as it moves from analysis to presentation.

The company is also expanding its partner ecosystem with new connectors and an MCP app. These integrations provide governed, real-time access to essential financial data sources and embed provider tools directly within Claude.

These advancements are best paired with Claude Opus 4.7, which Anthropic claims leads the industry on the Vals AI's Finance Agent benchmark at 64.37%.

Agent Template Breakdown

Each agent template is a reference architecture comprising skills (instructions and domain knowledge), connectors (data access), and subagents for specific sub-tasks. Firms can customize these templates to align with their internal modeling conventions and risk policies.

The new agent templates cover a broad spectrum of financial operations:

  • Research and Client Coverage: Pitch builder, Meeting preparer, Earnings reviewer, Model builder, Market researcher.
  • Finance and Operations: Valuation reviewer, General ledger reconciler, Month-end closer, Statement auditor, KYC screener.

These agents can function alongside analysts as plugins or operate autonomously as Claude Managed Agents for larger-scale tasks. The Managed Agent approach offers features like long-running sessions, per-tool permissions, and comprehensive audit logs.

Expanded Ecosystem and Data Access

Claude agents now connect to dozens of market data providers, research platforms, and internal financial systems. New connectors include Dun & Bradstreet, Fiscal AI, Financial Modeling Prep, Guidepoint, IBISWorld, SS&C IntraLinks, Third Bridge, and Verisk.

Moody's has also launched an MCP app, bringing its credit ratings and company data directly into Claude for compliance and credit analysis. This broad ecosystem ensures agents can access and process the data financial professionals rely on.

Anthropic's Claude agents for financial services aim to significantly boost efficiency and accuracy across the industry.
