"Vibe coding" may have polarized reactions, but it changed the way we see AI transforming software engineering, according to Sarah Urbonas, who leads startup marketing at OpenAI. She spoke with a panel of founders at OpenAI DevDay about AI coding tools that help small teams scale their codebase and impact. Urbonas introduced founders from Warp, CodeRabbit, Charlie Labs, and Jam, who demoed tools designed to speed up shipping, streamline code reviews, and maintain clean codebases.
Zach Lloyd, Founder & CEO of Warp, emphasized that applying development agents to large codebases can be difficult. "If you're a professional developer working on a big codebase, it actually can be hard to apply agents to build software," he stated. Warp's mission is to empower developers to ship great, life-changing software by using agents. Lloyd demonstrated Warp's agent, powered by GPT-5, to build within Warp's million-line Rust codebase.
Harjot Gill, Founder & CEO of CodeRabbit, addressed the second-order effects of AI code generation, noting that code reviews are becoming a bottleneck. CodeRabbit, an AI code review solution, provides a critical trust layer between agentic software development and production. The code review tool provides actionable, in-line review comments and refactor suggestions, sorted by criticality.
Riley Tomasek, Founder & CEO of Charlie Labs, demonstrated an agentic development environment that helps teams ship code faster. “Charlie collaborates with your team directly on GitHub, Linear, and Slack," Tomasek noted. Charlie writes production-grade TypeScript code autonomously and proactively finds and fixes technical debt.

Dani Grant, Co-Founder and CEO of Jam, introduced "Please Fix," a tool designed to empower non-developers to make changes directly to a website. "What if you don't have to file a bug report? What if they could just fix it themselves?" Grant asked. Please Fix turns the browser into an editor, allowing users to edit copy and design elements directly on the page, with AI creating a pull request.
