WiseTech Global's $2.1 Billion Acquisition of E2open

WiseTech Global Ltd., a provider of logistics software, is acquiring E2open Parent Holdings Inc. in a $2.1 billion deal. E2open, based in Austin, Texas, offers a cloud-based supply chain management platform used by over 6,000 companies to manage billions of transactions annually. The platform provides features such as shipment booking, freight consolidation, merchandise tracking, and risk analytics to anticipate supplier-related issues.

This acquisition significantly expands WiseTech's reach in the logistics software market, complementing its existing CargoWise platform. The acquisition is being financed through a combination of $3 billion in debt financing secured by WiseTech and backing from a group of E2open investors holding a majority of the company's voting shares.

WiseTech anticipates closing the transaction by the end of 2025 and expects the acquisition to be accretive to earnings per share within a year. The deal represents a 68% premium over E2open's closing price before acquisition rumors surfaced, highlighting the strategic value of E2open's technology and customer base for WiseTech's growth strategy.
