Valencia-based startup Voltrac has raised €2 million in seed funding to further develop and launch its innovative autonomous electric tractor platform. The platform, designed for both agricultural and frontline logistics applications, represents a "first principles redesign" of the traditional tractor, utilizing distributed electric propulsion and advanced AI-driven software. This approach promises significant improvements in efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness compared to conventional tractors.
The funding round was supported by Atlantic Labs & FoodLabs, with Christophe Maire, Managing Partner, highlighting the convergence of robotics, AI, and critical infrastructure as key to Voltrac's success. Voltrac's dual-use technology targets the substantial agri-tractor and military logistics markets, with the company already engaging in discussions with NATO departments and conducting joint sales events.
Voltrac plans to use the €2 million to scale its manufacturing capabilities, aiming for first customer deliveries in Q1 2026. The company, founded by aerospace engineer Francisco Infante Aguirre and DeepTech operator Thomas Hubregtsen, leverages its founders' expertise in aerospace, AI, and agricultural implement manufacturing to create a truly disruptive technology in the agricultural and logistics sectors.
The company anticipates another financing round later this year to support continued growth and expansion.
