NiaHealth Secures $5.75 Million Seed Round for Proactive Health Platform

NiaHealth, a health technology company based in Toronto, operates as a proactive health platform in Canada. The company integrates advanced biomarker testing, fitness wearable data, and personalized clinical consultations to assist individuals in optimizing their long-term health. NiaHealth aims to provide tools and guidance for health management before symptoms manifest.

The company announced the close of a $5.75 million seed funding round. The round was led by Golden Ventures. Participating investors included Kyle Braatz, Satish Kanwar & Arati Sharma, Jonathan Ehrlich, Zach Coelius, The51 women-focused venture fund, Jason Smith, Kathy Butler, and returning investors Boris Wertz, ScaleGood Fund, Garage Capital, and Ivan Yuen. This funding brings NiaHealth's total capital raised to over $8.25 million, which includes a $2.5 million pre-seed round completed in 2024.

The capital will be used to accelerate the rollout of NiaHealth’s Platform 2.0. This platform is designed to integrate data from popular wearables such as Oura Ring, Garmin, Apple Watch, and Fitbit, providing continuous health insights. It will also incorporate continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) for real-time tracking of food impact on health. The platform expands biomarker testing from 50 to over 100, with plans to add tests for toxic heavy metals, omegas, and advanced thyroid.

This funding round occurs as Canadian life expectancy has remained stagnant for six years. Chronic illness is increasing, and approximately 6.5 million Canadians currently lack access to a nurse practitioner or family doctor. NiaHealth reports that over 90% of its members discover an undiagnosed issue or risk through its services.

Since emerging from stealth earlier this year, NiaHealth has accumulated over 12,000 individuals on its waitlist. The company is on track to exceed 300,000 biomarker tests by the end of the year and has reported 30% month-over-month user growth, primarily driven by referrals. Partnerships with the University of Alberta and companies like Ada support the company's scientific research and corporate employer benefits programs.

Other competitors include wellness coaching platforms and some concierge medical practices that focus on preventative care and health optimization.
