London-based Edumentors secured €1.7 million in Seed funding. Abu Dhabi-based Magna Investments led the round. This investment supports the development of Edu AI, a human-AI tutor.
Edumentors, founded in 2022, connects students with tutors from elite UK universities. The platform has delivered 100,000 lessons across 35 countries. This new capital accelerates growth for its existing human-to-human tutoring model. It also funds research and development for new products.
Advancing AI in Education
The company plans to make world-class tutoring freely available through Edu AI. This AI tutor adapts to student needs and teaches any subject. It breaks down complex topics and engages through human-like interactions. Edu AI will utilize human-like characters to build trust. It recreates a real teaching experience with diagrams and whiteboards. Furthermore, it understands non-verbal student cues.
Edumentors has already generated $3 million in sales.
The global online tutoring market is projected to reach €23.1 billion. Edumentors aims to unlock a larger market with its AI tutor. The company has already introduced an exam marking AI tool and an AI Avatar parent influencer. Future plans include a larger Series A round to enter the U.S. market. This positions Edumentors among leading online learning platforms. Unlike Chegg or BYJU'S, Edumentors focuses on a human-AI hybrid model.
