Kotoba Technologies secured $11.83 million in Seed 2 funding. Globis Capital Partners and Boost Capital led the round, accelerating commercialization of its AI-powered simultaneous interpretation technology.
Advancing Real-Time Speech AI
Kotoba Technologies develops state-of-the-art foundation models for real-time speech applications. For instance, its DOTSU iOS app, offering speech-to-text simultaneous interpretation, recorded 500,000 sessions. This app achieves sub-500 ms latency. Furthermore, the company pushes speech-to-speech models, approaching human-interpreter quality for Japanese↔English. This advancement leverages cutting-edge speech recognition and natural language processing techniques.
The new funding supports team expansion and increased research and development. Consequently, Kotoba Technologies plans global deployments in August. These events will showcase its AI-powered speech-to-speech simultaneous translation. Ultimately, this technology aims to break language barriers, a goal also pursued by major tech firms like Google and Microsoft in the broader artificial intelligence field. Notably, the company previously demonstrated its real-time speech AI at an Nvidia AI Summit.
