Klutch AI, a company providing AI Agents construction management solutions, has publicly launched and announced an $8 million seed funding round. The company develops intelligent AI agents designed to automate project workflows, enhance jobsite data capture, and reduce project delays within the construction sector.
The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures and Bling Capital. Participating investors included Brick & Mortar Ventures, Original Capital, Anthology Fund, and prominent angel investors from Autodesk and BuildZoom. The capital will be used to advance Klutch AI's workflow automation capabilities and build integrations with industry-standard tools, aiming to serve the broader construction market.
Construction projects frequently encounter issues such as delays, data fragmentation, and rework, often stemming from communication gaps between field teams and office personnel. Despite the widespread adoption of project management software, an estimated 96% of construction data remains unused. Project managers often spend significant time on manual data inputs, leading to critical decisions being made with fragmented or inaccessible information.
Klutch AI addresses these inefficiencies by embedding field-tested AI agents. These agents automate various tasks, including permit review, takeoffs, estimates, jobsite documentation, and vendor coordination. This approach aims to reduce manual work while improving overall project outcomes. Unlike AI solutions limited to GPT-powered copilots, Klutch AI's agents are designed to orchestrate end-to-end workflows and provide advanced analytics. They can extract jobsite updates, flag issues, and surface vendor insights from diverse communication channels such as photos, texts, calls, and emails.
Klutch AI's platform can be deployed as a complete construction management solution or integrated with existing platforms and tools used by residential and commercial construction teams. Early customers have reported saving over 10 hours per week and gaining access to higher-quality data, which supports more informed decision-making across all project phases.
Key offerings from Klutch AI include specialized AI agents: Archie AI, which automates zoning and permit review for architecture and planning; Bob AI, designed to capture jobsite data via SMS and WhatsApp; Petra AI, which automates takeoffs, estimates, bid leveling, and vendor scoring for procurement; and Hailey AI, focused on managing warranty tickets and linking issues to vendor performance. The company also offers custom workflows tailored for specific business processes.
Klutch AI was co-founded by Xu Rui, CEO, and Tanin Na Nakorn, CTO. Both founders previously worked at Stripe, where they led machine learning-driven analytics and revenue products. Xu Rui's background includes experience running a real estate investment company, providing firsthand insight into the challenges faced by field teams in construction.
"The future of construction isn't forcing field teams to adopt complex software—it's AI that works within their existing habits," commented Xu Rui, cofounder and CEO of Klutch.
The construction industry represents a significant economic sector, with the global construction market valued at approximately $2 trillion. Despite its size, it remains one of the least digitized sectors, presenting an opportunity for technological advancements like those offered by Klutch AI.
The construction technology market includes established players offering comprehensive project management and data solutions. Companies like Procore provide cloud-based construction management software covering project planning, resource management, and financial tracking. Autodesk Construction Cloud offers a suite of tools for design, planning, and construction operations, integrating various workflows. Trimble Viewpoint also delivers enterprise resource planning and project management software specifically for the construction industry.
