Innsbruck-based DeepTech company Hololight has secured €10 million in new investment. This funding round, led by European growth fund Cipio Partners, aims to support the global distribution of its XR pixel-streaming technology. Existing investors Bayern Kapital, Direttissima Growth Partners, EnBW New Ventures, and Future Energy Ventures also participated.
Hololight, founded in 2015, provides a technical bridge between XR applications and devices. Its proprietary XR streaming technology pixel-streams applications from cloud or on-premise infrastructure. This process overcomes common device, performance, and security limitations. The company’s goal is to make every AR/VR application available wirelessly, as easily as streaming movies.
Advancing XR Accessibility and Scalability
Pixel-streaming is a fundamental technology for the scalability and usability of AR/VR devices and use cases. It enables applications to stream from central servers directly to AR and VR devices without performance loss. This ensures high data security regardless of the device. Consequently, companies can scale AR/VR applications more easily by centralizing data.
Furthermore, this technology makes future AR/VR devices more powerful and user-friendly. Hololight’s product portfolio lays the foundation for companies to implement their AR/VR strategies successfully. Its latest development, Hololight Stream Runtime, enables streaming of any OpenXR-compatible app with just one click. This allows existing applications to stream to AR/VR devices without additional development work. This represents a crucial step for rapid AR/VR adoption in enterprises.
Hololight currently serves over 150 international customers and partners. The company aims to expand its position in XR pixel-streaming and drive global adoption. While companies like Arvizio and XR Central also focus on enterprise XR solutions, Hololight emphasizes its unique pixel-streaming approach. This investment will further scale its existing business and market its latest innovation worldwide. The company is committed to taking AR/VR technology to the next level, ensuring flexible, secure, and scalable application integration for businesses.
