Munich-based ARX Robotics secured an €11 million Series A extension, bringing its total Series A funding to €42 million. Speedinvest led this extension round, with HV Capital also participating. The initial €31 million Series A in April saw leadership from HV Capital, alongside Omnes Capital, NATO Innovation Fund, and Project A. This ARX Robotics funding strengthens its position in European defense.
Advancing European Defense Robotics
ARX Robotics, founded in 2022 by former German Armed Forces officers, develops autonomous unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). Its modular Gereon UGV platform and Mithra OS, an artificial intelligence-powered operating system, enhance mission readiness. The company aims to enable autonomous ground operations within a fully European supply chain. ARX Robotics systems are currently deployed by six European armed forces.
The fresh capital will expand ARX Robotics' software-centric platform for networking and digitizing unmanned combat vehicles. Furthermore, it accelerates serial production of connected, tactical UGV platforms. A key focus involves building additional production facilities and strategic partnerships across Europe. This brings in industrial capacities and resources for rapid, cost-efficient production of intelligent systems. The company actively contributes to Europe's security-relevant reindustrialisation, similar to efforts by companies like Rheinmetall.
Specifically, the funding supports software-driven networking via the proprietary ARX Mithra OS system. It also advances the digitization of heavy combat vehicles for modern European land forces. ARX recently announced strategic partnerships with global market leaders such as Daimler and Renk. These collaborations aim to advance digital transformation, industrial growth, and international expansion. The company offers highly effective, fully integrable, and open-architecture software and hardware solutions tailored to defense technology needs, distinguishing it from traditional defense contractors like BAE Systems.
