Cisco has announced its intent to acquire Robust Intelligence, a leading startup in AI security solutions, as part of its ongoing efforts to fortify the future of AI-driven enterprises.
The 2024 Cisco AI Readiness Index reveals that 95% of respondents believe AI will significantly impact IT infrastructure and security. As businesses increasingly prioritize IT modernization and cybersecurity, the acquisition of Robust Intelligence positions Cisco at the forefront of this transformation. Traditional security tools often fall short in addressing the unique challenges posed by AI.

Robust Intelligence offers expertise in AI model security and governance, which complements Cisco's existing capabilities, and the Cisco Security Cloud. The startup was founded by Kojin Oshiba and Yaron Singer in 2019 and raised $44 million in funding, plus an unannounced round 2023.
Backers in the startup include Sequoia Capital, Harpoon Ventures, Engineering Capital, Tiger Global Management, Cisco Investments, and In-Q-Tel.
