Brave Wallet has integrated NEAR Intents, a move that significantly expands its cross-chain capabilities. This update, detailed on the Brave blog, allows users to swap assets across nearly all supported blockchains directly within the browser wallet.
The integration connects previously siloed ecosystems, including Bitcoin, Solana, Zcash, Cardano, and various EVM-compatible chains like Ethereum and Arbitrum. NEAR Intents has already facilitated over 19 million swaps and $14 billion in volume across 35 chains.
NEAR Intents utilizes a novel transaction architecture designed to simplify cross-chain complexity for DeFi applications, AI agents, and end-users. This eliminates the need for traditional, often cumbersome, bridges.
Seamless Swaps for All Assets
Brave Wallet users can now execute direct swaps between assets that traditionally lack decentralized exchange (DEX) options, such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Zcash (ZEC). This includes transfers involving transparent and shielded ZEC, with refunds automatically returning to the shielded pool.
Shielded transactions, which leverage zero-knowledge proofs for privacy, are a key feature for Zcash users within Brave Wallet. This allows for private sending and storing of cryptocurrency.
