Anthropic Unveils Claude Design

Anthropic Labs has officially launched Claude Design, a new AI-powered tool aimed at streamlining visual content creation. This new offering, powered by Anthropic's most advanced vision model, Claude Opus 4.7, allows users to collaborate with the AI to produce polished visual assets.

The tool is designed to bridge the gap between ideation and execution for a range of visual projects, including designs, interactive prototypes, presentation slides, and one-pagers. Claude Design is currently available in research preview for subscribers of Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, with a gradual rollout throughout the day.

Design Without Constraints

Claude Design seeks to democratize visual creation, enabling experienced designers to explore a wider array of concepts and empowering individuals without design backgrounds to bring their ideas to life.

Users can initiate projects by describing their needs, with Claude generating an initial version. Refinement occurs through conversational feedback, inline comments, direct edits, or AI-generated adjustment controls.

A key feature is Claude's ability to integrate with a team's existing design system, automatically applying brand guidelines for consistent output.

Teams are already leveraging Claude Design for:

Claude Design builds a team's brand identity during onboarding by analyzing codebases and design files, ensuring all subsequent projects adhere to established typography and color palettes.

Input flexibility is a core tenet, allowing users to start from text prompts, upload various document types, or even capture elements directly from websites using a web capture tool.

Fine-grained controls enable precise adjustments to layout, color, and spacing, with the ability to apply these changes across the entire design.

Collaboration is facilitated through organization-scoped sharing, with options for private documents, view-only links, or collaborative editing within group conversations.

Export options include internal URLs, folder structures, and common formats like Canva, PDF, PPTX, and standalone HTML files.

For development handoffs, Claude Design can package assets for seamless integration with tools like Claude Code.

Canva, a partner in this initiative, highlighted the seamless transition from Claude Design drafts into its platform for further editing and publishing.

Claude Design is accessible to Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers, utilizing existing subscription limits with options for additional usage.
