Anthropic has inked a substantial compute deal with SpaceX, aiming to dramatically expand its AI processing power. The partnership grants the AI company access to all compute capacity at SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center.
This agreement unlocks over 300 megawatts of new capacity, expected to include more than 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs within the month. This influx of resources directly supports higher usage limits for Anthropic's Claude Pro and Claude Max subscribers, alongside improvements to the Claude Code and Claude API. According to Anthropic News, these changes are effective immediately, reflecting rapid progress on securing necessary compute infrastructure. The Anthropic SpaceX compute deal is a critical step in scaling its advanced AI models.
Increased Claude Accessibility
Alongside the SpaceX partnership, Anthropic is doubling Claude Code's five-hour rate limits for its Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. They are also removing peak hour reductions for Pro and Max accounts and significantly raising API rate limits for Claude Opus models.
