The gain is not chat, it is plumbing.

McDonald, principal and COO of Redding Ridge Capital which manages about 50 billion in assets, said mock CLO portfolios of 200 to 400 names now hit 80 to 90 percent before portfolio managers add final judgment.

The same stack turned a weekly trade and settlement reconciliation that took hours for two to three people pulling bank statements into a one minute repeatable visualization now reviewed daily, he said.

Michael Manapat, co-founder of Rowspace, asked why teams cannot just plug data into Claude or ChatGPT, and McDonald said generic models lack private data and trust comes from owning the data and having Rowspace sit with trading and finance to pick the golden source among 20 conflicting feeds.

What the exchange did not show was error rates, exception handling, or audit trails for the pricing, trade order, and compliance systems feeding the agents, and coverage still depends on human QA each day.

Whether minutes stay minutes when indentures, real time pricing, and warehouse funding move together will decide if this is efficiency or durable edge.
