Bloomberg reported on August 18, 2026, that Anthropic plans to give Chief Executive Dario Amodei and co-founders shares with extra voting power before the company's public listing, despite Amodei holding roughly 2% of the company. The move comes as Anthropic prepares what could be one of the largest IPOs in US technology history, targeting a size Bloomberg reported the company hopes will match or exceed SpaceX's record offering. The backdrop is a revenue surge that ran from $9 billion in annualized receipts at end-2025 to $47 billion by May 2026.
A revenue run with few precedents
Dario Amodei told CNBC on May 6, 2026, that Anthropic had planned for 10-times growth in the first quarter but instead saw an 80-fold increase in annualized revenue, a rate he described as "just crazy" and "too hard to handle." At the end of 2025, Anthropic's annualized revenue stood at roughly $9 billion. By April 2026, the run rate had reached $30 billion. By the time the company announced its Series H on May 28, it had crossed $47 billion. (CNBC, May 6, 2026)
