Tweetie was a popular third-party client for the social networking service Twitter, available for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Mac OS X. It was developed by Loren Brichter through his company Atebits. Tweetie was notable for introducing the "pull-to-refresh" gesture, which has since become a standard feature in many mobile applications. In April 2010, Twitter acquired Atebits and Tweetie, rebranding the iPhone version as "Twitter for iPhone" and integrating its features into official Twitter applications. The Mac version was also acquired and eventually became "Twitter for Mac."
