## What the source doesn't say

What actually changed is distribution, not just model access.

Previously enterprises called external APIs or self-hosted open weights separately from their data platform, now Mistral inference is embedded in Cloudera's security and governance perimeter.

Pricing and packaging for in-platform inference and Forge-based customization were not disclosed.

SiliconAngle described the deal as a nine-figure partnership, a scale point absent from the official post, which only details technical integration.

There is no list of which Mistral models are supported at launch, nor any timeline for availability beyond the September 10 announcement.

Governance claims sound strong, but we do not yet know how Cloudera handles audit logs, model lineage or updates in air-gapped sites without phoning home.
